Don't fly kites near overhead wires. Move away from the wires straight away and, if your kite looks like it may hit them, let go of it. If your kite gets stuck in overhead wires, call your local electricity company. If the string is hanging down call the police and stay nearby at a safe distance until someone comes to remove it, so that you can warn anyone who goes near it about the potential danger. Don't touch the string because electricity can travel along it.
What to do if something goes wrong:
If someone flies a kite into overhead wires and is electrocuted, call the emergency services on 999.
